Bring the Heat was an open registration tournament that was held in two stages. During Day 1, "Pools", players were assigned to groups of 7-8 players, and played Best-of-1 matches Round Robin style with each other player in their pool. From each pool, the top two ranked players advanced to Day 2. During Day 2, the top 32 played Best-of-3 matches in a double elimination bracket.
Bring the Heat was the first Beastieball tournament to feature prize support, provided by Greg Lobanov himself. All three players received merch from The Yetee: First place received the starters t-shirt, both pins, and the Kickstarter exclusive Sprecko plushie. Second and third place each received the t-shirt and one pin.
The tournament was won by ArcTech, coach of the Arcane Machines. The team uses an efficient offensive core that was common in the tournament: Captain users Bandicraft and Tortanchor using Set to help front-row attackers Servace and Vultoxin deal heavy damage. Leveraging Fetcham's Watchtower trait also helped keep the team's attackers out of harm's way.
Teams on Beastiepedia are created automatically based on the current patch versions of Beasties, Plays, and Traits. As such, the specifics of tournament teams shown here may not reflect the patch the tournament was played on. See the individual pages for each Beastie, Play, and Trait for balance history.
Second place went to DinoT, coach of the Wayward Pirates. They piloted a stall team: Traps and Sweaty wittled down the opposing Beasties into range where Kasaleet could pick up easy knockouts. Mudslee spread Sweaty with Heat Wave, keeping itself safe with Moist. Orgella proved to be a threat, able to Sting opponents for disruption, and keep itself healthy with Sting and Tough Front combined with Superorganism. Xiphosaur was a sturdy defensive presence that kept up the chip damage with Nettle and Steamer. Finally, Gremlur kept opposing attacks away from itself with Slippery so it could provide essential disruption with Provoke and Cyclone.

Third Place
Third place was claimed by ArtemTotem, coach of the Shining Stars. Their team was built around the play Juggle: Musselbound, Supilero, and Fetcham all had this play and could take advantage of it in slightly different ways. Musselbound's Musclebrain Trait allowed it to take great advantage of Spitball's disruption with all the benefits of its sky high Body attacking potential. Supilero was a more hardy presence on the field thanks to its high Defense stats and Scavenger trait. Both of these two Jugglers had access to High Five, allowing them to preserve their Juggle Power boosts when tagging out. Fetcham, while it was the most commonly seen Beastie in Bring the Heat's Top 8, was running a very different set than usual to accommodate Juggle: Full Body Power investment and the Fetch trait to take full advantage of Juggle -> Juggle -> Attack turns when receiving the ball. Its access to Dive also had great synergy with High Five from the other two Jugglers. Skulkapi provided support and disruption, while Gremlur redirected attacks from itself to its Juggling partners so they could take full advantage of the play.
The Community Awards were player-voted honors given outside of the normal bracket winners. Each had its own category and criteria, and the winners were enshrined in the "Hall of Ballhalla" alongside the tournament Top 3.

Trivia
Only three fully metamorphed Beasties did not make an appearance during Bring the Heat: Grazada, Blitzwift, and Crawlurk.
Despite this, two Beasties that were not fully metamorphed did make appearances: Servitt and Milimine.
Bandicraft was the most used Beastie in the tournament, appearing on 32 total teams, including the eventual winner.
Fetcham was the most common Beastie in the Top 8: 20 Fetchams were brought to the tournament, 6 of them made it to Day 2, 5 of them made it to the Top 16, and all 5 of those made it to the Top 8.
Plumask had the worst Day 2 conversion rate in the tournament: Out of the 10 teams featuring Plumask in the event, none of them made it to Day 2.
Set was the most common play on tournament teams, followed by Shield.
The tournament organizers originally planned to award an additional community award during Bring the Heat: "The Sports Analyst", for the player with the most accurate bracket prediction. No players were able to create a very accurate bracket, so this was scrapped.
