List of minor characters in Chroma Sea
The following minor characters can be found in Chroma Sea:
Chartreuse Island
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Sharone | ![]() |
Bouncer of the Mermaid Club. Does not let the player inside unless they have the King's Letter. Blocks the upstairs VIP area on orders from Sunsoo, unless they're "really fun". When the player claims they are fun, he offers to play a Beastieball match against them outside.
Sharone looks up to ranked coaches like Sunsoo, and thought being close to them would help him get noticed and learn a thing or two. When he first met Sunsoo, he was "a bit of a hotshot", and challenged him to a match. Once the player proves they're a "legit team" by defeating him, he lets the player through. |
Clemens | ![]() |
Is sleeping. Has no dialogue beyond "Zzzzz..." |
Genesa | ![]() |
Comments on how "life is perfect" on Chartreuse. She lays on the beach and sleeps all day, then dances in the club all night. Says Chartreuse is like a break from reality, and that she would never be able to do this all day every day. However, Sunsoo gives her the vibe of someone who would. |
Gaia | ![]() |
Is happy to have a grandson (Fabio) that takes her to the beach, but wants him to settle down, find a "nice woman", and "pop out a bambino or two of his own". Says Fabio is spoiled with too much "sea, sun, and pasta." |
Fabio | ![]() |
Says his nonna (Gaia) used to take his whole family to Chartreuse every summer, and that he met his first girlfriend there. |
Oleh | ![]() |
Speaks in ALL CAPS. His mom says Sunsoo is "washed up", so he thinks he must be "really clean." Comments that the player doesn't seem very clean and so should get washed up too. His mom also thinks Sunsoo is "trashy, but that makes him kind of hot." |
Lucille | ![]() |
Is on vacation with Kisy, "an entire week straight of sun dancing, and fun." In hindsight she calls it an "ambitious plan". They've been saving up for this trip for a long time, and they're saving the Mermaid Club for last. However, they don't have VIP invites. Lucille is not worried about this, because she has seen the people who go in there, and they look "basic as." |
Kisy | ![]() |
Is on vacation and is "nursing a wicked headache." Needs to be back at work next week. Is excited to attend the player's Ranked Match against Sunsoo, and is planning on "slapping herself to stay awake". |
Isabelle | ![]() |
Comments on the biodiversity of the barrier reef that surrounds Chartreuse, the Chroma Reef. It "absorbs the chaos of the open sea", protecting the island from waves and storms. |
Coquelicot Beach
On the beach
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Rufus | ![]() |
A League Tech who's volleying a ball with his Calcroach, Rufus, on the beach. Rufus was assigned to him by his employer, the Beastieball League; many other League Techs are assigned Calcroaches because they're "smart and handy". Cobalt's become more than just a work partner to Rufus, and when he was finally offered vacation days by his supervisor, he agreed only on the condition that Cobalt could come with.
He comments that Cobalt is a diligent office worker, and likely doesn't get much time to play Beastieball. While it's not Cobalt's primary interest, all Beasties need it, just like all humans need some recreation time. He observes that the League's plans always grow faster than their staff does. He enjoys his work, but it's easy to miss months of your life flying by when you're busy. |
Boreal | ![]() |
Her mother is sick, so she's staying with her grandfather on Coquelicot Beach. Is confused upon learning that Beastieball is turn-based as well. Usually when she stays with him there's a lot of other kids visiting, but there's none around right now, so she's been bored.
Thinks the player's Beasties are cute, and can't wait to have Beasties of her own some day, so she'll "never be bored or alone". Lets the player choose which of their Beasties they think is the cutest. She agrees with whatever the player chooses, but says she could never pick a favorite. Her grandfather sometimes joins her on the beach, but it's a long way from the top of the hill, and "sometimes his knees can't take it." Says he wants her to learn to play Chess so they have something to do together. She finds chess boring, however, because she hates taking turns, and wants to become a Beastieball coach instead. She expresses confusion upon learning Beastieball is also turn-based. |
Trizah | ![]() |
Takes a train from Geo City straight to Coquelicot Beach. Mentions that the train to Coquelicot Beach is still on the old Railhouse line, which is why it's still "under the radar". Once they link up with the Zip Station lines, "it's all over..."
Elaborates on Geo City's public transit. All Zip Stations lead to Hyperlink Terminal. This is right near Trizah's apartment, so she can "literally get anywhere." |
In Town
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Merrick | ![]() |
Comments that Coquelicot Beach used to be a well kept secret, but isn't much of a secret any more. Many "city kids" have started arriving off the train. He didn't mind it at first, but he's getting sick of seeing their litter on the shore.
Has heard rumors the Railhouse in the turn will be turned into a Zip Station soon. When that happens, "this place is never goin' back", and they'll just be another neighborhood of Geo City. |
Farzaneh | ![]() |
Instructs the player to keep an eye on their Beasties, as she does not get along with them very well, and finds them a bit scary. She doesn't understand why everyone loves Beasties, she finds their "sweaty, sporty aura" intimidating. A wild Beastie once broke one of her windows, which led her to learn she was not paying for "Beastie insurance". She's glad your Beasties love playing sports, but says to do it far away from her. |
Cerise Atoll
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Ziggy | ![]() |
A colossal beached Tortanchor, whose bond with its coach has broken. Upon watching the player play a Beastieball match on the island, Ziggy offers the player the Tattered Jersey. Upon bringing the jersey to Walter, then to Autumn, the player learns that Ziggy was once coached by Autumn's grandmother, Emiko. Autumn gives the player the Cassette Player, which contains a recording of Emiko playing music and singing. After listening to the recording, Ziggy seems to understand Emiko "isn't around anymore." Rather than sad, Ziggy looks happy, lost in the music. Taking the cassette player in his mouth, Ziggy returns to the ocean, opening the path to Gamboge and the Mushroom colony. |
Gamboge
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Zara | ![]() |
Came to see the Gamboge Pirate Show for their birthday. The Party Pirate Picnic Port is her "favorite place in the whole entire world", but the only bad part is that the Party Pirates "play sports sometimes". Participates in the Pirate Show during the player's ranked match. |
Katya | ![]() |
Zara's mother, who mentions Zara "won't shut up" about the Party Pirates. Comments the trip here wasn't easy, and with the beached Tortanchor blocking the way out she is feeling frustrated. Is thankful when told it's gone now. |
Yoandy | ![]() |
Is of the opinion that Tortanchor are the coolest Beasties, and tells the player about them at length:
|
Ruben | ![]() |
Explains that Marcy's grandparents were the first to start the Gamboge Pirate Show. Before then, Gamboge was just a small fishing village, but the show drew visitors from all around.
Continues that the Party Pirates were doing "just fine" before the League stepped in, and speculates that they "poached" the Pirates to elevate their own status. They're strong Beasties, but they were raised for the stage, not for sports. |
Vuk | ![]() |
The Party Pirates are his favorite Beastieball team, since "even though they're pirates, they're not BAD guys", they go on adventures with their friends, the Beasties, and when they find treasure they bring it home to help their families. Participates in the Pirate Show during the player's ranked match. |
Muffin | ![]() |
Employed by the Party Pirates. Seemingly self-conscious about their performance, as they ask if their "YO-HO-HO!" was "really cool". During the Pirate Show, they run a stall selling Pirate Bites for $25 and Pirate Juice for $20. |
Elliot | ![]() ![]() |
Employed by the Party Pirates. Asks the player for a $30 entrance fee, and suggests the player try their special "pirate grub".
During the show (in character), claims he'll "quit being a pirate" when he finds the treasure of Treasure Island, and he'll become a hit record producer like he's always dreamed. When the player uncovers the first Buried Treasure, he challenges the player to a game of Captains mode Beastieball, in which he explains the rules. Dramatically weeps when he loses. After the show, Marcy will not offer the player her contact if they did not play their part in the show well. In this case, Elliot will give the player her contact instead. |
Jan | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Employed by the Party Pirates, only appears in character. Remarks that her crew has spent so long searching for this treasure, but that there's no use dwelling on the past.
Her hometown was ravaged by pirates when she was a child, and she swore she'd never become like them. But when she met her crew, she realized that not all pirates are the same, and she decided to leave her former life to seek fortune on the high seas. When she finally gets the treasure, she'll use it to rebuild her hometown. When the player uncovers the second Buried Treasure, she challenges the player to a game of Captains mode Beastieball. Falls to her knees when she loses, declaring the player a "true hero". When she continues weeping and saying she's failed her captain, the player is prompted to ask if she is okay before she "dies". |
