Trivia
- Waglash and its metamorphed form were the first Beasties created for the game. The development team were working on iterating upon their designs all the way up until the launch of Early Access.[1]
- As the first Beasties added to the game, Waglash and Riplash were used as placeholder artwork for unfinished Beasties for much of development. This beta screenshot showcaes Waglash's early design being used as a placeholder for unfinished Beasties. "Quarterback" refers to Beetlback, "Psychic" refers to Psylusc. It is unknown what "Talltail" refers to.

- Waglash was introduced in the October 2024 Playtest as Pubber, one of the attempted redesigns of the "shark" concept. In the Early Access release the following month, Pubber was replaced with Waglash.
- Waglash takes its name from a variation of "Wagdash", the original name for Woollie prior to the Early Access release.
- Waglash's internal name is "shark1". It also has an old internal name, "lilshark".
- As Waglash and Riplash were the first Beasties, this old internal name may have been a relic before the numbering system for metamorph lines was standardized.
