Zefyre
"They protect forests from fire by raking soil to encourage plant decomposition. When fires do break out, they attentively manage them."
—Beastiepedia
Zefyre is a Beastie. They metamorph from Sefren starting at level 24.
Biology
Zefyre is a bipedal, avian Beastie. They have black and dark grey feathers on most of their body, with their head having bright-colored feathers that range from light to dark pink, and a stripe of yellow feathers across the middle of their head. They have a long beak and blue eyes with a sparkle visible on the pupil, and the pink feathers on the front of their head extend far down to their legs and taper off. They have thin legs, with each foot having three claws in the front and one in the back. Their tail consists of both a thick white plume of feathers that resembles a plume of smoke, and two very long tails that curve out in front of them and end in yellow feathers with pink tips.
In Zefyre's Raremorph form, their yellow feathers become bright cyan, their pink feathers become pale ice blue, their irises become less saturated, and their body and tail feathers become slightly lighter.

Trivia
- Zefyre's internal name is "lyrebird". It also has an old internal name, "angel".
Origin
Zefyre appears to be based on a lyrebird, a genus of birds native to Australia which are known for their distinctive long and curved tail feathers. Their relation to wildfires also draws comparison to some birds of prey, like the black kite, that seek out forest fires to hunt for escaping prey, and can even end up spreading the fires further in the process; Zefyre's tendency to manage and prevent fires may be an inversion of this.
Name origin
Zefyre may be a combination of zephyr (a light wind) and fire, lyre, and/or sapphire (in reference to their sparkling blue eyes).
